Jonathan Harris is a real estate entrepreneur and educator who challenges the industry’s transactional norms by redefining what leadership, guidance, and service should look like in residential real estate. Known for his steady conviction and long-term thinking, Harris operates at the intersection of disciplined strategy and deep responsibility to people.

For much of his life, one quiet question followed him:

If I’ve been given the chance to live, how can I exhaust my potential? Doctors once believed Jonathan would be severely handicapped. Still, that early prognosis instilled in him a resolve to live to his fullest potential, and a belief that his life’s purpose includes serving others. Inspired by a Michael Jordan quote, “I don't compete with other people, I compete with what I'm capable of." Harris learned early that excellence is an internal standard, not an external comparison.

Though real estate was never part of a grand plan, it found him anyway.

In college, he bought a house and rented rooms to friends. After graduating, he returned home, bought another property, fixed it up, and sold it, realizing for the first time that real estate could be both a business and a vehicle for impact. Harris began working with clients, and somewhere around his hundredth transaction, he realized he had stumbled right into his career.

Over the next two decades, he completed more than 3,000 transactions and, along the way, founded Scout Realty, a brokerage built to do something meaningfully different. The name Scout was inspired by a grueling expedition in the Alaskan wilderness, where a skilled scout guided Harris’ group through unfamiliar terrain. Not simply pointing the way, but anticipating challenges, choosing the right path even when it wasn’t obvious, and opening access to places they never could have reached alone. Those same principles now define Scout Realty: expert leadership, courage, foresight, and a commitment to putting clients first.

As Scout evolved from a local brokerage into a growing national vision, Jonathan began asking a bigger question: How can I add more value to more people?

That question led to the founding of Agent Maker, where he distills decades of real-world experience into practical training designed to help agents build durable, scalable careers. His work has been recognized nationally through his acceptance into the Forbes Real Estate Council, where he contributes thought leadership on the industry's future.

Homes for Homes

Beyond business, Jonathan co-founded Homes for Homes, a nonprofit dedicated to providing safe housing for families in developing countries, an expression of his belief that success is measured less by what we build or earn, and more by the lives we impact. Guided by faith, service, and personal accountability, Harris believes that when the focus stays on adding value to others, life, and business, it becomes more beautiful.
